You have a choice about what charities you support, and we’re grateful you’re choosing Community Home Health & Hospice. We’re a local nonprofit healthcare agency that serves the entire community. Your gifts bring peace of mind to patients and families during a difficult time in their lives. This includes people without health insurance or limited financial resources. Your gifts to Community make a big impact on hundreds of individuals every day.
Area of Greatest Need
This is one of the most valuable gifts you can make to support our patients and families. These resources help us respond quickly to emerging needs to provide what’s necessary as well as what’s visionary. Examples of how we might use these funds include: patient programs, transportation to patients’ homes, technology, staffing, or facility enhancement.
Charity Care/Community Benefit Services
Charity care is free or discounted care to meet the medical needs of patients have limited or no healthcare insurance. Gifts to this category support veterans needing inpatient hospice care, survivors of suicide needing grief support, hospice patients needing respite care, and more.
Your donation will provide free grief support services for anyone who has lost a loved one from death; not only those touched by hospice. Grief support groups are available for children, teens and adults. Youth ages 5 – 17 can also attend a free summer grief camp. Our memorial gardens in Longview and Vancouver are also supported by gifts to bereavement.
Let us know if there are specific areas of our mission that you would like to support that aren’t listed elsewhere. It could include direct support of the Longview Hospice Care Center or Elaine and Don Heimbigner Hospice Care Center, or support directed to Clark County or Cowlitz County. It may be also be specific items on our wish list.
Pet Peace of Mind
Pets are members of the family, and when a family member is receiving hospice care, they don’t need to worry about the care of their beloved pets. This free program provides pet-related services (food, veterinary care, grooming, and more) to hospice patients. Volunteers assist with these services.
Patient Care Endowment
Gifts to the endowment ensure that our patients receive the highest quality care for years to come. Your donation will be placed in a pool of funds that are invested for the future. Each year, income from the endowment is distributed to cover expenses such as clinical staff salaries and benefits, medical supplies and equipment.
Gifts to this category support the ongoing professional development of our staff to ensure they provide the highest quality care in a dynamic healthcare environment. The Staff Education fund helps us attract, train and retain top quality staff.
