On Veteran’s Day, Sheryl Reeder and her 10 siblings fondly remember their parents Joel and Mary Reeder. Both were Korean War veterans stationed in Okinawa from 1948 to 1954; Joel as a B29 bomber pilot and Mary as a nurse. The Reeder children wanted to permanently recognize their parents’ military service, so they purchased a memorial brick which lies in our memorial garden outside the Seasons of Hope Grief Center in Vancouver. Their double brick includes an American flag to indicate their veteran status. This Veteran’s Day, Sheryl will step out of her Community office to visit their brick.
