Community GEMs give monthly
Just as gems are precious and valuable, so too are Longview residents Joe and Kirsten Amrine. For decades they’ve given generously of their time, talents and treasures caring for their community. “We have been blessed and want to spread our blessings,” is how Kirsten explains their motivation for giving. Active in their church and Rotary, they have also served as volunteers with organizations including the school district, City of Longview, the chamber of commerce and Community Home Health & Hospice.
The Amrines became donors to our agency in gratitude for the end-of-life care Joe’s parents received in our hospice care center. In Joe’s words, “The care center is a real jewel and we are fortunate because not every community has one. From the high quality care of frontline staff to administration to leadership, it was first class. We take our philanthropy very seriously and support organizations like hospice that meet critical community needs.”
Joe and Kirsten want to ensure the agency continues to offer hospice care and other services for generations to come. So a few years back, they committed to making donations every month to help the organization’s financial position. To their way of thinking the level of giving—small or large—doesn’t matter as much as the dependable income stream it provides.
Introducing Community GEMs
With the launch of our new monthly giving program, you can join the Amrines in providing stable financial support to our agency. Called Community GEMs (Give Every Month) program, it’s easier than ever to make ongoing gifts using a credit card or checking account transfer. Once you set it up, it’s automatic each month. No more hassle of writing individual checks or making credit card transactions every time you want to make a gift. For as little as $10 a month, you can help honor the courage and sacrifice of our dying veterans.
As a Community GEM, you can memorialize a loved one as well as honor that special Community employee or volunteer. In addition, you’ll receive an annual tax statement of your gifts and a gratitude report.
