Dr. Rinella was recognized for their commitment to improving the quality of life by displaying professional competency in the hospice industry.
Hospice practice includes patient care, medication management, performance improvement, engagement in interdisciplinary group (IDG) activities, and much more. Professional certification affirms a knowledge and experience base for hospice physicians to display commitment to their career, dedication to patient and family care, and the sustainability of the hospice organization and industry. HMDC designation is granted for six years and is renewed through continued validation of knowledge and re-assessment.
Dr. Rinella is board certified in family medicine and was previously a partner at NorthShore Medical Group where he served as their medical director. He practiced “full spectrum” family medicine—caring for patients of all ages including delivering babies, performing minor surgical procedures and taking care of hospitalized patients with complex illnesses. Dr. Rinella currently serves as the Medical Director for Community Home Health and Hospice, and in that role provides outstanding medical leadership for the organization’s hospice program. His certification is evidence of the high caliber services provided through his practice. Community CEO Greg Pang said of Dr. Rinella, “we are so very proud of Dr. Rinella, and I can tell you based on the feedback from our patients, families, and staff that they greatly appreciate his expertise.”
