Friends of Hospice Southwest Washington put on a 5k walk and run event last month in June to raise money for hospice families in need. Of course we at Community had to round up a group and participate in all the fun! Almost 30 of the Community family showed up, including a few loveable pooches, for a couple hours of walking along the Columbia River among good company and beautiful weather. After breaking a sweat for a good cause, a few stayed for a delicious spread and live music provided by Say Ciao.
According to Friends of Hospice, their event raised $3,098 with about 90 participants — a great turnout! Thank you, Friends, for hosting this outing. It was such a joy to see everyone in person after so long apart.
